Do you need an LCD projector? If you haven’t already considered whether or not you want to buy or rent, now is the time. Your decision may be based on primarily on your budget, but there are other factors to consider to make sure you get exactly what you need and can use it when you need it.
You can rent LCD projectors from various outlets. Whether or not you choose to buy or rent LCD multimedia projectors first of all depends on how often you are planning to use the equipment and where you will use it.
If you are a traveling business person conducting presentations in various places, for example, your best option is to rent LCD projectors in the cities you visit because transporting it can be expensive. You could also end up with damaged equipment.
By contrast, if you are planning to use the equipment for the long-haul – and if you are using it in a primary location – then the decision to rent LCD projectors is less attractive. You are better off buying because the cost of renting will likely outweigh the cost of buying within a few uses.
There is yet another consideration, though. If you buy LCD projectors, your equipment will be outdated in a few years. If you rent LCD projectors – or if you lease a system – you can enjoy the benefit of having the most current technology available.
Or you could rent LCD projectors that are a few years older for a much lower price. By the same token, you can also buy used equipment and save a bundle. But you are sacrificing the cutting-edge bells and whistles that you would otherwise enjoy when you rent state-of-the-art LCD gear.
There are still more pros and cons in the buy versus rent equation. If you buy an LCD projector, you may have to compete with other employees to use it. If you carve out a budget to rent LCD projectors instead of putting out the major cash outlay up front, multiple departments can use the equipment they need at the same time.
Then there is maintenance. If you buy the gear, you will have to maintain it and repair it yourself. If you rent LCD projectors, the company from which you are renting handles the maintenance and repairs.
