Tech Tuesday - Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone

In this Tech Tuesday, we’re checking out Shure’s MV7 Podcast microphone. Taking after Shure’s incredibly successful SM7B, the MV7 is a dynamic microphone that offers high-quality, podcast-ready audio recording at an affordable price point.

Shure has become a staple in the audio world, and the MV7 supports this even further. During our tests, we were incredibly impressed by the ease of use, the audio quality, and the build quality of the MV7.

 How it Works

This is about as plug & play as it gets. In our video, you will hear the difference between two microphones, one being the MV7. The longest part about setting up the MV7 and being ready to record was opening the box. The microphone is powered via USB or XLR cable. All a user has to do is plug either type of cord into the back of the unit, the drivers are automatically installed onto the computer and it is ready to go.

One of the key features of the MV7 is the Auto Level Mode. This is an auto-levelling feature built within the microphone itself that ensures the audio levels stay at a comfortable level even in a dynamic situation. Perfect for your podcast guest who gets “just a little” too into the conversation.

Check out the video below for an in-depth explanation of how to use your new MV7.

Ideal Use Case

It’s all in the name. This is a podcasters dream microphone. However, we also found it more than adequate to use as our video recording microphone for this Tech Tuesday episode. Other options include paging for a PA system or voiceover artist work!

A special thank you goes out to Shure and SFM Marketing for their participation in this week’s Tech Tuesday. For more information on the MV7 and the other technology offered by Shure, visit HERE.  For information on our friends at SFM Marketing, please visit their website HERE.
