Project Highlight: BC Financial Services Authority

The BC Financial Services Authority is a regulatory agency responsible for overseeing the financial services industry in British Columbia, Canada. With numerous meetings, hearings, and collaborations taking place regularly with participants around the province, the authority sought to enhance their communication and collaboration capabilities by adopting the latest advancements in audiovisual technology. Evolution AV was approached to design and install advanced AV systems throughout the BC Financial Services Authority headquarters. The project aimed to provide seamless hybrid meeting experiences, improve audio and video quality, and optimize collaboration in various meeting environments

The AV Systems

In the Cypress Room, Evolution AV deployed two AVer auto-tracking PTZ Cameras. These state-of-the-art cameras can automatically adjust and frame all meeting participants or track individual presenters as they move around the room. This feature ensures that all participants stay engaged and remain in the visual focus throughout the meeting. For audio, Evolution AV installed the Televic Confidea wireless conferencing system. Each microphone base station was equipped with a 5.2-inch touchscreen, providing users with convenient options to request to speak, enter a speaker queue, and even vote during meetings. The wireless nature of the microphones allowed flexibility in customizing the number of microphones required for each meeting. Beamforming microphones placed in the ceiling further improved audio pickup for impromptu discussions.

From the moment that we got started, to completion, we felt like we were in great hands, and we look forward to building more rooms.

A Mersive Solstice wireless presentation system has also been installed. This system enables guest presenters to effortlessly share content from their personal computers to the room displays and web meetings. By recording the shared screen using Microsoft Teams, the solution ensured a seamless experience while avoiding potential audio issues from additional devices or participants joining the meeting.

In the interview room, we configured a versatile huddle room setup. A video bar was strategically placed near the display, promoting effective collaboration in a smaller setting. This adaptable design allowed the room to transform into a huddle space when needed, offering flexibility for various meeting requirements. All meeting spaces were equipped with integrated control systems, enabling effortless power management for all AV equipment. With just one button push on conveniently located wall panels, users could effortlessly turn on or off the entire AV system, streamlining the meeting setup process.

By introducing dedicated video conferencing hardware to their meeting and hearing rooms, the BC Financial Services Authority is able to conduct meetings and hearings across the province without having to worry about video conferencing setup or function—leaving their staff free to focus on the content of the meeting itself.
