Tech Tuesday: The FrontRow ezRoom & Elevate System

Welcome back to Tech Tuesday! Today, we’re zooming out a bit from our usual product focus and taking a look at the latest full system from FrontRow: the ezRoom system and Elevate microphones!

FrontRow’s new Elevate microphone system combines the best of two technologies: FM transmission and IR transmission. Normally, most classroom audio systems use either one or the other of those, which both have downsides: IR transmission can be interrupted by line of sight disruptions, while FM systems do not work well in close proximity to one another—such as in adjoining classrooms.

The Elevate system uses both types of transmission to compensate for their downsides: the system uses IR transmission to determine the presence of the microphone in the room, and FM transmission for the actual transmission of audio. This allows for clear, uninterrupted audio when teachers are in the classroom, while keeping any conversations that happen in the hallway out of the classroom.

FrontRow has also added a bunch of features to make the classroom audio experience seamless. The built in PrioriTeach system automatically lowers the level of the student microphone when the teacher is speaking.

The Elevate system can also be integrated into the EZRoom base system, which can house all the classroom AV essentials: voice amplification, AV control, remote management, bells, paging, intercom, and alerts. The control box can be standalone, wall mounted or ceiling mounted for maximum flexibility. Additionally, each classroom with an ezRoom system can be linked together over the network to become part of Conductor, which routes bells, direct paging, intercom calls, alerts, and emergency communication directly through your classroom speakers.

Thank you to FrontRow for providing us the Elevate system to demo! We’ve installed their products across Canada and would not hesitate to recommend them for any of your classroom needs.
