Tech Tuesday: LOFT D3 Interactive Display

This week, we’ve got a big product to unveil – literally. We’ve been working with LOFT Technologies since their inception, and we’re excited to show off their latest product: the D3 Series Interactive Display.

Building on the success of their D2 Interactive Display, the D3 Series brings several improvements to the user experience, starting with the display panel. The vibrant 4K display now features toughened glass surface that is also antibacterial, making it perfect for classroom settings.

The touchscreen technology has also been improved for the D3. The display can recognize up to 40 individual, independent touch points—perfect for brainstorming sessions, and allowing the D3 to be a perfect whiteboard replacement. As well, the touch layer behind the glass has gotten thinner, which provides a better writing and touch experience.

The D3 Series has also made big steps in expanding the PC potential of the displays. The chassis features an OPS module for expanded processing capability. This can be used with a PC to turn the display into an all-in-one computer, similar to the D2 series—or, purpose built digital signage modules from manufacturers like BrightSign can be added and integrated with existing video distribution on the network. The display also features a USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port, allowing users to mirror or extend their screen and charge a compatible laptop or tablet at the same time.

The software side of the D3 has also seen some upgrades as well. The new Bytello Share software keeps the feature set of the original Screenshare Pro software, and adds the ability to mirror a screen without an app—either via Chromecast, Miracast or AirPlay. This adds a ton of functionality, and around the office here we’ve found it super handy for easily showing materials during meetings.

Evolution AV has installed countless LOFT products in our past projects, the quality and reliability is unparalleled, and we are so excited to start integrating the D3 into classrooms and businesses across Canada.  Big thanks to LOFT Technologies for sending us the D3 to check out!
